Long Thrust VI Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Duarte 1223, regarding that red-painted helmet: Red helmets were often worn by the officer or non-commissioned officer in charge of a "hot" (live-fire) firearms range.
Richard Gordon Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 My fixed bale with early Westinghouse liner. This came from the estate of an 8th Airforce officer but there is nothing to say it was his helmet.
Martin2 Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Evening gents please have a look at the pics of my first American helmet. it appears to be Ww2 ? the batch number is 900 F ive tried to find a website that I can date it from plus the manufacturer but I’ve had no luck . can anyone help me out with this please. also do you think the leather chin strap is original , there are no stamps on the inside of the rivets or inside the chin strap clip. many thanks Martin
