Tony Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 This is one I found downstairs in the cellar, a nice water colour in very good condition, painted in the late 1920s. It doesn't quite fit under the scanner but the only bits missing from the scan are dark bunker walls.Don't know if they are stormtroopers but they do look like they've had a hard day at work.Tony
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 Nice pic...You know my address....is it an original????
Tony Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Nice pic...You know my address....is it an original????Yep, orignal. It was painted by a bloke who worked for the wife's Grandad, he was a Malermeister, so it goes without saying that they were all dab hands with a brush and pot of paint.I like the small picture on the bunker wall and have always wondered what happened to the bloke whose damaged tin hat is on the table. I've forgotten the painter's name so I'll have to ask again (it's signed but I can't read it) and will pencil it on the back.I bet it was painted from memory and might even be in one of those Verdun bunkers. I might even let you look at it in real life one day.
Chris Boonzaier Posted January 30, 2007 Author Posted January 30, 2007 I might even let you look at it in real life one day. Will I have to show you mine???
