mmiller Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 It sure looks like a bad casting, with some type of makermark partially applied. Maybe A/S in a triangle?Look at all the 'pock' marks in the reverse.Regards,Mark
joetauchretter Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I have to agree , this is a bad cast repro ! Best Regards, Joe

Avitas Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Just out of curiosity, what are your guesses on what this badge was cast from? Was this a cast copy of an original maker? Why I ask is I have a Schwerin badge that appears to be the type this was cast from. Sorry I have no pics right now but mine is definitely a much sharper detailed version of this design with proper hinge and pin set-up. Any ideas?Pat
Gordon Williamson Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Don't kn ow which original style may have been used to create this casting, but it wasn't Schwerin. You can see the retaining hook is the round wire type crimped into the reverse face. This style was never used on SChwerin Destroyer Badges.
