Stogieman Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Distinci?n "23 de Agosto" Unfortunately, I have no details or information on this one yet. Ribbon example below. A Cuban site specifies: "Distinci?n "23 de Agosto" de la Federaci?n de Mujeres Cubanas"So an award from The Federation of Cuban Women (??), I found many Cuban women bographies that noted receipt of this award.
Guest Rick Research Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 I think that's been mis-identified by the seller. It's got a PERSON (even I cannot read the name from the eCrap scan)...though can't find THAT ribbon either, so maybe it's a previoiusly unknown award!
Stogieman Posted March 23, 2007 Author Posted March 23, 2007 Well, the other combo that is close, but no Kewpie Doll is:Medalla "Por la Valent?a durante el Servicio" (I)
Stogieman Posted June 15, 2007 Author Posted June 15, 2007 Distinci?n "23 de Agosto" Good scans, front & back:
Naxos Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 (edited) Guns and nursing mothers? ....well, I guess you got to keep the cannon fodder coming Hardy Edited June 15, 2007 by Naxos
IVB Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Example of the Medal:I think this is Distincion "Antero Regalado".
Stogieman Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 Yes, that's correct. Please note the correct medal scanned in post #6
Megan Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Just added this one to my site - and in rooting around discovered that it was instituted in 1985 by the Federation of Cuban Women, and awarded for work promoting family life, health and social care in the community. Quite where the firearms come in...?
