Herr General Posted March 30, 2007 Author Posted March 30, 2007 I think you are right! I will try to make photo's within a few days. It is difficult because the document is framed by Jeffreys and I don't want to remove it from the frame.

Wilco Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Naval Attache in the Netherlands, then it must be possible to find something related to him in the Naval archives (Den Helder) or the Instituut voor Militaire Geschiedenis in the Hague.

Herr General Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 Here's a scan of his ribbonbar, can someone help me?1 Distinguished Service Cross2 Victory Medal 1914-183 British War Medal 1914-18
Michael Johnson Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 FreeBMD gives him as Robin Edmund, so unless the Registrar made an error, that should be the correct version.I make the medals to be:DSM, 1914-15 Star, BWM, Victory, 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star??, Defence Medal, War Medal with mid device, 1937 Coronation, then one foreign decoration.
Herr General Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 Thanks Michael,I think it is the DSC, see this thread:http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/sho...hlight=Jeffreys
Michael Johnson Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) Thanks Michael,I think it is the DSC, see this thread:http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/sho...hlight=JeffreysQuite right - typing too fast. The last ribbon looks to have some sort of devices on it. I doubt he'd be wearing an Italian decoration just after the war, and it might be too early for the Dutch award, although the ribbon looks close to that . Edited May 3, 2007 by Michael Johnson
Herr General Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 I think your right. It looks like an higher grade foreign award. I have mailed a contact at the British embassy in the Hague. Maybe he can find out more. Thanks!
