I have received images from a friend who is as ignorant as I am regarding Chinese orders. Sure, I have Wehrich and the OMSA database and Megan's and Yuri's sites and otrher sources, but they aren't complete. I (we) need help.

    He wants to know:

    1- What are they?

2- Approximately how much are they worth? (As some of you know, I am VERY uncomfortable askinmg such questions, but I have been asked to ask and so I do.)

The damage on some is extensive and troubling, I know.

    Thanks in advance.

Item #2 is the Order of the Golden Grain

Item #4 is the Order of the Striped Tiger

As for their value Liverpool Medal has some (and if you divide their prices by 2 you would have a realistic guess...)

Thanks, Mike. Confirms my thoughts (on all levels :P ).

    Others?

#3 - Order of the Precious and Brilliant Golden Grain (different order from the Order of the Golden Grain). Looks to be missing a central pearl.

Thanks, Jeff. Many of these badges have had their precious bits popped out. Sad.

I really wish we had a better reference on Chinese awards!

    Hello,

Caution, the first plaque is an hybrid: an Imperial Princes' Rank and Merit badge (third class) jointed with a plaque belonging to the Republican Order of the Precious Brilliant Golden Grain (Pao- Kuang, Chia-He, Hs?n-Chang, as stamped on the reverse).

Not very kosh?r - from my point of view. (I'm not a specialist).

    Regards

    Michel.

    Hello Ed,

That item #1 "Gold Harvest" (or Golden Grain) looks pretty nice.

These early Chinese breast badges and medal were first appeared

in 1911 and yet no longer valid after 1929.

The market value for these stuff is very low I would say, due to less

    significant and lack of recognition.

Well, good fun to have them anyway!
