I got this photo and I think it shows the Kronprinz Wilhelm von Preussen

It is a real photo, not a printed postcard, that's the back:

The back is not like other postcards from the royalties, no name on it.

Is it right, that he wears the uniform of a officer of the Berlin Garde Regiment ?

On other postcards one can see the Kronprinz with much more decorations.

From what time could this photo be ?

Or isn't it the Kronprinz ?

Hello Robert:

Yes, that is definately the Kronprinz Wilhelm! I would surmise that the photograph is pre-1914 because there is no EKII ribbon. This is his stripped-down uniform for the field (inspections, maneuvers, etc.). As you can see, he only has his medal bar and his Prussian Order of the Black Eagle star. Look at all of the loops for the other Order stars! He is also not wearing his collar of the Prussian Hohenzollern House Order.

the Kronprinz wears the uniform of the 1. Garde-Regiment zu Fu?. The shoulder boards appear to have been altered to make them look like those of a Major. Judging by his age and comparing this to another example of this photograph where the boards are more clearly those of an an Hauptmann, I would date it around 1904.
