Stogieman Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Distinci?n "Aracelio Iglesias"25 Years of service in the Merchant Marine
Ulsterman Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 wierd- I see references out there to 15 years service, but also even wierder-it's been awarded to microbiologists and other teachers and union officials.
Taz Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 The following are a few images of the award currently on offer on E.
Taz Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 And the reverse. At a starting price of over USD 200!!!! How this price could be asked is above me. Of course only my opinion.Eddie.
Guest Rick Research Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 It looks like the first one was SILVER colored-- two classes?
Ulsterman Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Ah-Ha!!! Look at that back-look at that ribbon pin! Exactly like Derg era medals. I smell a DDR manufacturer here......
Taz Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 It looks like the first one was SILVER colored-- two classes?Rick, I think that's down to the quality of the first pic.

Taz Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 (edited) OK, that's very bizarre... I have never seen that message on eBarf before! It was this medal, boxed, with ribbon bar.Opening bid was $200 USD !!!!!!Rick, was it a Bulgarian seller like in the posts #4 & 5?That was the same starting price too. Also a boxed Medal Why on earth a Distiction deserves such a ridiculus starting price I will never know. Cuban Orders have an opening bid lower than that.Where does this seller base that price on?Regards Eddie Edited February 4, 2008 by Taz
Megan Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Came across this: ... then found this thread when trying to figure out what it was. Any thoughts?

Hello Megan, this item here is a pre-1978 medal. In other words, it was created before the passing of major legislation. Basically Law #17 and Law-decree #30 as amended, which are still the backbone of the Cuban award system. There is even an earlier piece I have in my collection. Please see attached. Thank you
