Motorhead Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Another new one in my collection.....one of the really ugly crowns. But have a look at the reverse-I didn't expect to find markings and so I was really surprised to find a "G" and a very unclear "800"! This is no rare variation,so please have a look at your example....Micha
Steve campbell Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Interesting and a bonus to find a maker and silver mark. Are you saying these are hard to find like this? I'm guessing they are. By the way, have you gotten my PM's?
Motorhead Posted July 17, 2007 Author Posted July 17, 2007 I have, but it seems to be you didn't got my replies!Micha
ekhunter Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 (edited) Micha, a really nice marked cross. You are one lucky son of a gun. If you ever start chasing rainbows, then please let me know, because I want to be there to see it, because with your luck, I know it's got to be a big pot of gold at the end of that rainbow. ekhunter Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 (edited) Did this one come from the collection you just bought? Hey, didn't Dracula at least give Renfeld a few crumbs? Edited July 17, 2007 by ekhunter
Motorhead Posted July 17, 2007 Author Posted July 17, 2007 No,this one was a shot in the blue at Ebay.......I've seen this variation from time to time but all of them had a big loss of paint at the core.So I had to buy this one......and this money wasn't wasted at all! Micha
gregM Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Wow-Micha,I had to go give mine a thorough looking over again. My cross is not markedhowever the backing plate is very faintly marked "Victoria DRGM"

gregM Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 The makers mark is VERY VERY faint. You have to look at it at an angle in the right light to be able to read it. This scan is very bad and you need to useyou imagination to make it ou-- BUT it is there.--
gregM Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 This is what it should look like. I Lifted this from a different thread ( Daniel, I hope you don't mind )
