Tom Y
Yup. The Bulgarian Bar Extender was available to anyone who wore Feldgrau 1914-18 and had a few Marks to spend.

Guest Rick Research
Ahhhh, but these were OFFICIAL. I've got a Hungarian one for a guy who never served outside of France. The only one with real "had to be there" requirements was the Tyrolean one.The other weird thing is that while the OTHER Central Powers magnanimously proferred their medals to all their former allies, the cheapskate Germans did NOT reciprocate and offer theirs to their old comrades in arms. There were some individual exceptions (Hindenburg Crosses sometimes appear in senior Hungarian officer groups), but NOT "apply and its yours" like the Austrian, Bulgarian, and Hungarian WW1 commemorative medals. Chris Boonzaier
I cant remember the name, but what is the German one that has the device on the ribbon of a round wreath with a sword through it ?I found one of those to a Hungarian officer, but that is not an official one.
