JBFloyd
A dim spark in the memory banks indicates that this is a Phillipines Wound Medal for civilians. Can anyone shed any light on the accuracy of that recollection? The reverse is blank and I find no maker's marks. Ed_Haynes
Interesting, Jeff. The OMSA datatase shows thishttp://www.omsa.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1798and Megan's showshttp://www.medals.org.uk/philippines/philippines011.htmand neither matches. I'd not suspect the Philippines to have the legend in English? Thopugh see: http://www.paf.mil.ph/gallery1/Awards%20an...el%20medal.htmlI'm not sure when the ongoing work of Manuel L. Quezon III (quite a name to conjure with, eh?) stands. Edited August 18, 2007 by Ed_Haynes
Paul R
Hi Ed,The two medals you linked were for military/police wounded in the line of duty. The one initially posted is thought to be for civilians(perhaps killed by the Japanese)? The colors on the ribbon are reversed. New award for the database, Ed?
