Ed_Haynes Posted September 6, 2007 Author Posted September 6, 2007 Reflecting my main interests: There are holes for two decorations on the left chest. What? There are no clear impressions.Closeup on collar.
Guest Rick Research Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 I can't make out where the holes are, in relation to one another. If one is higher than the other and the higher one is off to the shoulder side, probably a 1938 "Jubilee"Medal and a screwback OrderIf they are both level with each other, probably two screwback Orders, unless they are too close together and then you get into other possibilities. Lake Khasan? Sports? Or ... ? (I wish we knew how FEW of any of these ranks/branches existed.)
RichieC Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I especially like the chinstrap and the date stamp on the cap. Congratulations Ed!
Ferdinand Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 (edited) If I'm not mistaking this uniform is for a Brigade Commissar (1 rhomb on the collar), the lowest general rank of the commissars. Edited September 7, 2007 by Ferdinand
Ed_Haynes Posted September 7, 2007 Author Posted September 7, 2007 Closeup on the deocration-hole region above the left pocket. Interestingly, this photo shows more detail than I can discern with the naked eye. The reverse shows a full-size screwplate for the first, but a smaller one for the second.I am evolvoing a theory but want more expert opinions, please.
