Hello

This is the rear end of a german aircraft bomb. It has original red paint, and a waffenamt marking. Does anyone know what the red colour means. Is it meant to be attached to a practice bomb?

Honestly, I don't know if it's just a primer, or if it's some kind of colour coding. I know that they used to paint their bombs with different colours, to show what kind of bomb it was. I must admit that the shade of red on my bomb, matches the primer red. The colour can allso have changed a bit over the years.
