PeterL Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Good evening all,It's me again with more questions. First let's see if i have learnt something. To me, the attached LW radio operator/gunner looks like a late zink to me, replaced hinge and pin and someone has messed with the rivets and attachement of the eagle. Are the eagle and wreth matching or is a mix? To me i looks to be period apart from this. OK, I tried, now shoot me down Peter
isonzo Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Sorry, Peter, it is a totally fake! Best isonzo
PeterL Posted October 27, 2007 Author Posted October 27, 2007 I need to study more, obviously. I guess that the eagle and wreth are the wrong pattern then, I do not have that many reference pictures (yet) on this one. But it is still a zinker, right but done well after 1945?Peter
J Temple-West Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 Paul has correctly picked up on the post-war ?Souval? hardware?Wire rivets and one piece catch/catchplate. Well done, perhaps?. But anything purporting to be a period piece made after the war is just a lump of metal and will always be considered a fake.
PeterL Posted October 27, 2007 Author Posted October 27, 2007 (edited) Thank you all!Pictures and info now saved in my fake archaive. It seems that I learn alot more when I try things on this forum rather than sitting alone and think I know things. Perhaps my kids are right when they say "you don't understand anyting"! Peter Edited October 27, 2007 by PeterL
