J Temple-West Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Don Do you remember our discussion on these SA Reserve pins during your visit? Any further along with finding out who this maker is? If not, why not?
Scowen Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Indeed I do! Just one of the many interesting conversations we had And I think I am able to name this maker now....... I believe it's Hermann Bauer of Schwäbisch, Gmünd. They used an almost identical mark (a crown over a shield containing the letters HB) on their silverware (see below). I love these "SA Reserve" pins there are such a variety of makers out there. Anyone have others they wish to show? Cheers Don
--dj--Joe Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 Good research Don. Now for that other unknown. I'll have to check the maker mark on my example.--dj--Joe
--dj--Joe Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Just now checked mine. Hermann Bauer also. --dj--Joe
Robin Lumsden Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I always wondered why the SA Reserve of all things picked a winged shako as it's badge?
PAUSANIAS Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 (edited) Here is the mine. Edited May 23, 2012 by PAUSANIAS

--dj--Joe Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Has anyone seen different maker marked SA reserve pins? --dj--Joe
Scowen Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Hi Joe, I have two more that I've now had for many years but after my last posting here. First Ges.Gesch, Æ Second, Ges.Gesch & the letter S surrounded by sun rays
--dj--Joe Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Nice examples Don. I don't recognize either mark. AE seems most plausible but I wonder could it be FE? --dj--Joe

--dj--Joe Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I did some scouting about on the internet and located some that looked different from what we have seen but they were indiscernible. --dj--Joe
--dj--Joe Posted January 14 Posted January 14 I read of an example marked WTB but can not verify with an image. --dj--Joe
--dj--Joe Posted December 6 Posted December 6 I incorrectly assumed the maker mark on the piece was WTB. Now I see it is W (hammer) B. Attributed to: Wilhelm Binder. I still have no image I can share. --dj--Joe
