I seem to be on a TR kick again recently. Aquired this beauty from a fellow forum member. Came with a period Olympic brochure (32 pages).

A little backgound (courtesy of Angolia's Political Awards book):

54,915 persons received the Olympic Games Commemorative Medal (Olympia-Erinnerungsmedaille), which was instituted on 31st July 1936. The award was established to recognize service rendered in connection with the preparation and execution of the 11th Summer and 4th Winter Olympic Games held in Germany in 1936. It was is no way intended to be recognized as an award for participation, or placing in, an Olympic event. Award was not restricted to German nationals. However, persons who had received the Olympic games decoration 2nd or 1st Class were not eligible for this medal.

This particular example is silver finish on Iron base metal.

    1.
