Guest Rick Research
Another perfect example of a bar impossible to trace AT THIS TIME in Post #23--That Godet bar (the devices are distinctively theirs)-- despite being an 11 ribbon bar-- has only 1 award with a published Roll-- the BMV4XmKr. Black ribbon is the Vatican-approved Malta Order for a Catholic "von" since the final ribbon is the Papal Order of St. Gregory the Great. Both that Malta an St. Gregory MIGHT be post-1918, or MIGHT be shown in the 1914 Prussian Rank List. BUT... everyone is working on WARTIME awards. Nobody that I am aware of has done/is doing PRE-WAR awards.So-- a Catholic von, Major by war's end, most likely a 1920 XXV (no 1897 Centenary Medal) though that is shaving it awfully close even for a Major iG (which I suspect you are right and this was).So there is no combination we can look for, currently. ccj
So there is no combination we can look for, currently. That's a darn shame. To be honest, I never thought any bar would be identifiable until I found the forums. Having a photo showing a bar in wear that matches one in hand was the only way I thought possible. When are your roll books going to be ready? I'm ready...

webr55
Is it safe to say yhe first bar shown belonged to Eugen Duerr/D?rr???I think yes. But for further proof you could ask whoever is doing the Bremen rolls whether Duerr is in there.
