Ed_Haynes Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 (edited) Order of GallantryAwarded for gallantry, roughly equivalent to the Soviet Order of the Red Star.Established 29 October 1985. The award presumably became obsolete with the collapse of the PDRA in 1992.There are believed to be two varieties, (1) 1985-87, with an open book as part of the central design (shown below), and (2) 1987-92, without the book (next post). This one number 1248, with certificate to Vladimir Yurevich Loginov, 20 April 1987. Ed_Haynes Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 The 1987-92 variety. Enamel slightly the worse for wear.
Guest Rick Research Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 What does the Orders Book look like? That is a very low serial number for the date! I'd have expected many more, with the stage fighting was at then. So many of these awards are "out there" without ever seeing any form of the presentation paperwork!
new world Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Ed,Thank you for great examples of PDRA awards! How common are these awards? Are there any known fakes? How are the prices? Igor has some on his site, but his prices look steep.William
