Usually, crosses from Orthodox Russia are of the pattern with the tilting scales on the base This looks more like a malteese cross--I've never seen an Russian Orthodox cross in this style. If you google that with the quotes you'll find a lot of references and images for comparison. No idea what this particular item is, though. Guest Rick Research Posted December 20, 2007 Share Posted December 20, 2007 Are the red arms some sort of glass/crystal/stone or enamel?I agree that crown is EITHER Russiaan or Austrian.But the metal appears to be ? brass rather than the sort of hallmarked silver/gold/gilt that a "high end" piece might be expected to have.
