Kev in Deva Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 It comes under "Patriotika," its not an official military piece, probably, bought by a soldier to give his Mum or girlfriend etc..etc..Kevin in Deva.
speedytop Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Hi Sivart,it is not official, it is patriotic, based on the Iron Cross, with 1914, 1915 or 1916, in many varitions.RegardsUwe
Steve campbell Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 This era is full of patriotic items, many of them with Iron Crosses on them, such as jewellry, porcelain, postcards etc. There did not appear to be much regulation as to what or who made these items. They were not official I don't believe, but they can make a nice category to collect.
joe campbell Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 not official, but what an amazing array of workmanship, materials, design, and execution.very collectible, and THOUSANDS of variations!joe
