Verdun16 Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Hi, Here are a few neat photos that I have. Maybe Rick can understand this Luftwaffe ribbon bar. No markings on the reverse,Bryan
Verdun16 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 Another from the Kriegsmarine wearing a beautiful IC1. Love the beard
Verdun16 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 Officer with a three place ribbon bar. Karl Rowold written on the reverse and was taken in Mainz by Oskar Blume
Verdun16 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 A trio of Panzerjagers (The three from the Gas station?) taken in Hungary on 17 Feb 1945 proudly showing their newly awarded IC2s and a GAB
Verdun16 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 (edited) Can anyone tell me more about this fellow's shoulder tabs? Only thing I know about this guy is that he is medical,Bryan Edited March 23, 2008 by Verdun16
Verdun16 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 Second photo is much better as it clearly shows the boards and the ribbons for the IC2 and the Honor Cross with swords,Bryan
Verdun16 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 A unknown (to me) General with a couple of buddies
Verdun16 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 Maybe this guy was happy to go to war so he could find some peace and quiet
Verdun16 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 If the two guys at the bottom get any more awards they will need bigger uniforms
Verdun16 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 This one has been a favorite of mine for awhile
Guest Rick Research Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Wow! what an assortment!!!If you can make a clear enlargement of the Stabsarzt's ribbon bar in #1, knowing which Imperial state he came from MIGHT come up from a name with that large a combination. Interesting to see the officer cadet version insignia on his younger colleague. For some reason those officer-width/stiff "NCO" boards never seem to turn up.#2 is wearing an ARMY enlisted ranks tunic. I don't see any anchors on his buttons!#3 with the beard... I don't see any anchors on his buttons either. His straps mystify me. He doesn't appear to have NCO/PO braid on his collar, so that can't be a subdued Feldwebel strap. One metallic bar is for NCO candidates... so what's he doing with that AND a pip?#4 is wearing very nice war's duration Beamten collar tabs-- conhtrast with #12.#8 I don't recognize the General's face, but perhaps those who do NOT rely on ribbon bars can!#12 This war's duration Paymaster is wearing Regular officials tabs-- yet he's obviously a war's duration type too. His ribbon bar ends with the 25 Years Civil Service Cross, not Wehrmacht long services.#14 Mein Gott!!!!!! It is the ULTRA RARE, TOP SECRETPANZERKAYAK ABTEILUNG
Paul R Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Those are some great photos Verdun!! I really like the Medical photo up top(with the Officer Candidate!).
Paul R Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Another from the Kriegsmarine wearing a beautiful IC1. Love the beardThe Kriegsmarine one looks more like a member of an "Ostvolk" unit. I have never seen that type of shoulder strap insignia. Definitely not KM, IMHO.
nesredep Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 This one has been a favorite of mine for awhileHello!Very nice Panzer photo,i love it.Thanks for sharing.all the best Nesredep
Naxos Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 (edited) Second photo is much better as it clearly shows the boards and the ribbons for the IC2 and the Honor Cross with swords,BryanBryan, the Aufsch?be on the shoulder straps indicate that the wearer is attached to the 21. Laurence Strong Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Very nice photo's, #12 could be wearing the 1st style tabs with the grey piping before they went to the 2nd style tabs in #4
Verdun16 Posted March 24, 2008 Author Posted March 24, 2008 A bigger pic of the ribbon bar in post #1
Verdun16 Posted March 24, 2008 Author Posted March 24, 2008 Unknown winner of the Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross with Swords,Bryan
