norwest78
I finally got one of these scarce early flight helmets. It's not perfect, as it has the later microphone attachment and short cord. But it's original, clean inside and out, it's a large size 60, and both tags are present. For some reason, one or both of the tags are often missing in these helmets.--Kevin

juvatwad
Are the phone covers bakelite or metal?
norwest78
The cup structure is made of aluminum. The outside is covered with what appears to be bakelite. I've always called these "bakelite" earcups because of this appearance.

Richard Gordon
This one is interesting as it seems to be a bit of a mix between the 100 and 101 series!! The earcups and labels say 100 but the throat-mike set-up says 101.Rich

I suppose it could have been a transition issue, or the original mics were damaged and they replaced with what they had, or the owner might have requested the modification, or... well, who really knows? Not a "perfect" piece, but a nice one, and it cost me merely an arm -- I got to keep both legs.--Kevin
