Interesting- I had wondered what the odd symbol was exactly-now I know.

There are words on the blade of the machete-- "Por la defensa..." but can't read the rest and not enough space to be much. This must have only worked on very BIG graphics.

I like the stamp's assertion of the "respect" informing on one's neighbors had, internationally!

Are you sure that in your document you read "Por la defensa..."? if yes the CDR changed his slogan after 1966..

The offical slogan of the CDR (Comités de Defensa de la Revolución ) is "En cada barrio, Revolución!" ("In every neighborhood, Revolution!").

For the defense of the revolution (por la defensa de la revolución), and prides, con la guardia en alto (with combat readiness) are just other variations, maybe area/local slogans.
