I was looking for good pics showing the 1st U-Flotilla (Brest) cap emblem worn, and to my surprize I was not able to locate many of them

Absolutely correct my friend. An "exchange visit" was arranged between the crew of U-373 and an Atmy Sturmgeschutz unit. First the U-Boat men were allowed to visit the army and go aboard the StuG. Here is a U-Boat crewman manning the machine gun on a StuG. Note the flotilla badge.

Then the StuG crewmen were invited on board the U-Boat.
