Sorry for all of the posts yet I have permission to use the scanner and I want to make the most of it!First up is my Hero star. I was told that it was a wear's copy(?) There are differences in the face, shoulder, strap across the chest, lumps of ground underfoot and so on between good ones and fakes. Yours looks good, though not sure about the screw nut. I go one then for about $40.I have a dozen+ of the naval KGB vessel "veteran" badges, often to individual ships, scanned, and some still here from my friend in Hamburg who got them in Leningrad when things fell apart.Soooooo.... I actually cannot wait until it is over and done with!I know that the Kashan badge is good as I got it from Igor about 14 years ago. I dont know about the back nut though. The badge looks identical to the good one you posted. There are several other differences as well...1. Lack of detail in the laurel surrounding the badge2. Type of metal(darkened brass)3. The enamal looks strange on the fake4.
