Snoopy Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 HelloI don't know if everyone saw the two yellow german helmets, that I got for free last week, so here they are.Snoopy
Snoopy Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 This is the M-42, after about five hours of paint stripping. Not a speck of yellow left. Except for some spots of rust, all of the original paint is intact. This helmet have never had a decal. I am really pleased with the result. I hope you like it.
Snoopy Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 Looks good - how late a production is it?Thank's. I will try to check the batch number, regarding the year of manufacture. The liner band is dated 1943.All the bestSnoopy
Snoopy Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 Hmmmmm, not much interest in my new helmets. Snoopy
Paul R Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Don't worry, it's just jealousyI am very jealous!! Did you strip the second helmet yet? That first one is awesome!! Is it Heer gray or LW blue?
Snoopy Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 Thanks guys. It's allways nice to get some opinions, good or bad. The M-42 is a no decal Heer. The other helmet are allso finished, I have posted it in the KM section. It turned out to be a double decal KM reissue. All the bestSnoopy
censlenov Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 out of curiousity what kind of stripper did you use on the helmet. Seems to have done an excellent job.CheersChris
leigh kitchen Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I wonder why anybody went to the trouble of painting the inside yellow as well, rather than just the outside?
