Eric Stahlhut Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 notice the length of the post; quite handy if one were to attach this to a heavy outer garment--but could be problematic if affixed to a lighter piece of clothing
joe campbell Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 it WOULD tend to leave a mark if one were, say, slammed into the dashboard.....beautiful cross, and i'm inclined to agreeon its' application to an outer garment.with its quality, perhaps that of an officer...joe
Steve campbell Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 That is a nice one. So many different versions of these out there. Too bad I don't see any myself to buy lately. I was doing well for awhile, but know I can't remember the last I picked up a new EK1 1914.
ekhunter Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Yes, with more and more sharks out there, and less and less bait available, it does make one very, very hungry for a nice ek.
gregM Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 (edited) I agree. The last cross I picked up was at a show in March and it wasn't what I wouldconsider a great deal. They aren't any bargins to be had on ebay either. Ek2s are sellingfor what I used to buy screwback Ek1s for. Now I just sit back and wait and hope for thatgreat deal to come along. ekhunter Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 (edited) yup; i can remember wen ek1s went for $25 a pop.$25 a pop?? You've been around for a while! Good deals are definately hard to come by, and with all of the forums available today, most sellers are somewhat well informed of what they have, and a general price range of what they are trying to sell. Tough times for the bargain hunter. :banger: Edited June 16, 2008 by ekhunter

Good deals are definately hard to come by, and with all of the forums available today, most sellers are somewhat well informed of what they have, and a general price range of what they are trying to sell. Tough times for the bargain hunter. well i used to go to the flohmarkts around frankfurt, wiesbaden, and mainz every saturday starting from when i was 13. and when i attended the uni i frequented all the markts around munich. i saw some amazing stuff including an enigma machine, the ww2 plastic parade helmets (spanish made), random rks, coburg and gau badges, lotsa rare freikorps stuff, the list goes on and on and on. all to pricey for my pocket at that time.i pretty much stuck to eks as that was all i could afford at the time, and i still like them! i have no problem with the internet and the advent of the ever-expanding collector demand vs. the supply. the internet has ultimately given me much more than the effort i have put into it. thanks to people on forums such as this one, the added value has eventually enabled me to become a smarter and more discerning collector. it has enriched the part of my psyche that is a hunter and gatherer (hoarder!). bargains still exist, in an oblique fashion. just have to work/study/search a bit harder, that's all. heh. let's hope they keep getting better and better.
