Hello all,

What about this one?...good or bad?

 

In Detlev's 2nd price guide on page 331 he shows an identical badge(top),same maker and positioning of marks etc.My example is numbered 9271

 

Any opinions will be appreciated.

I'm certainly no expert on these things & have yet to find one that I'm happy with.

Cheers for the link Don I've seen that thread before but it's not exactly convincing one way or the other,it's very hard to fault the badge.

Over the last 5 years I've noticed many of these HJ Gold badges for sale with a thinner Swas than I remember them having. Yours looks a lot fuller, the way I think they should be and the number looks like it was stamped after the badge was made. Maybe they have diff style repros of these out now ? I know that thin swas version I've seen bothered me right off the bat.

The only HJ honour badges that I'm truely happy with are the type that are made of bronze with the wash/gilt, applied.
