Eric Stahlhut Posted July 19, 2008 Author Posted July 19, 2008 it's a hoffman tv from the 40's. also has a record player; everything works (til 2009, that is) and has the manual, too!

Guest Rick Research Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Way cool! My neighborhood only exists post- the 1953 flood, so not much pre-dating that.I've got a 1947 Dumont TV console which is large enough to be a single person dwelling unit-- the innards crapped out in the mid-1960s.Can't wait to hear about reactions to your new demi-tasses when company is next over. I use the Chief Paymaster of U-boats's transfer present tray for Christmas cookies....
Eric Stahlhut Posted July 19, 2008 Author Posted July 19, 2008 best part is yet to come. i have a lead on a captured KM ship's chronometer IN the case. WITH the u.s. military paperwork to accompany it...
Guest Rick Research Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 :Cat-Scratch: Uhhhhh, you didn't buy TWO of those 40 pound firecrackers from the Rez, did you? You're not walking around with one "making offers" by any chance? Just checking....

Eric Stahlhut Posted July 20, 2008 Author Posted July 20, 2008 hiya laurence, it's 'cause the tv system in the u.s. will change over to HDTV in 2009, and i'm not sure i will be able attach a converter to this thing. i sure hope so, though!

Just checking.... even better: i let my mom do the talking--she knows and is friends with everyone--all i had to do was shrug nonchalantly and go "uhhh, yeah, i guess so".... today was one of those days dedicated to spending quality time with the folks that ended up with me and some more neat stuff.
