landsknechte Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 ...it's not authentic, but what the heck is it???
landsknechte Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 For a moment, I thought I had found the rare "flaming cocktail shaker" shoulderboard cypher of the Fallschirm-bartender-regt.
Bob Hunter Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Let's move this to a higher intellectual level...how about an aviation ordnance technician??
landsknechte Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 (edited) There's something vaguely British about the way that device looks, but that's a completely uneducated guess based purely on aesthetics. Edited October 23, 2005 by landsknechte
Christophe Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 I have no idea of what it is.... but, to me, does not look French.Ch.
David S Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 My initial thoughts were Kreigsmarine Coastal Artillery. The badge is below. The wings are different.
Stogieman Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Huh, never would have taken that for being German...... go figure!
landsknechte Posted October 24, 2005 Author Posted October 24, 2005 Huh... You learn something every day. Cool.--Chris
Paul R Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 (edited) Huh... You learn something every day. Cool.--ChrisI saw a better look of that ribbon bar... The insignia is placed on a KVM ribbon. The prongs on are wrapped around the bar. They do not penetrate the fabric or the bar and it could be removed without evidence... unless it was on the bar so long that there are fading/staining patterns present around where the insignia is placed.Warm regardsPaul Edited October 24, 2005 by Paul Reck
Stogieman Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 OK, well that's interesting on several fronts...25mm ribbon that looks glued to a brass backing plateno backing materialhow odd.probably real, but well into the oddity column to me!
