Paul R Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 That is a really great grouping. What is the medal awarded for?
fjcp Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 This group about 200USD.For $200 I'll have two please!!!!That seems a little low for a nice looking set like that, but I don't know anything about these so I'll j be quiet!JC
Hugh Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 I agree that $200 seems a bit low for a set like this complete with documentation. The problem for a potential seller is that there aren't that many collectors of ChiNat stuff. Still, in a good acution, you'd hope it might fetch more. Hugh
Gordon Craig Posted December 29, 2008 Author Posted December 29, 2008 That is a really great grouping. What is the medal awarded for?Paul,The medal was awarded as follows; This award was Presented to my fathers uncle " " for his services of Medical Aid in China from 1944 to 1947. Thanks for comments on the possible value of this award. It will stay in the family where it belongs.Regards,Gordon
hc8604 Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) When was the medal awarded? On the Certificate in the frame, it says Chinese Republic, 48 year, 11th month. Which dates to November 1959.. seems it took 12 years for him to be finally awarded this medal.I, too, agree that $200 seems low, especially w/ documentation. In the US it will go for a lot more. In Taiwan, maybe less since there is probably more available. Edited March 7, 2009 by hc8604
No one Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Dear Gentlemen, If I may, the signatures are the most interesting point: - President Chiang Kai-shek: Chiang Kai-shek - Wikipedia - Chen Cheng, President of the Executive Yuan: Chen Cheng - Wikipedia - Minister of National Defense Yu Da-wei: 俞大維 - 维基百科,自由的百科全书 (wikipedia.org) And there is the name, in Chinese phonetic, to whom it was awarded. Honestly, I believe it's worth a lot more. Yours sincerely, No one
