Oldenburg red cross medal cased 950 silver

Hello I have come across this medal on a site.Marked 950 silver, How rare is it? It has a set price so any info will not affect the price unfortunatley I have very little reference material on Oldenburg medals Thanks Mark

From the pictures I would say a little bird belongs in the case and not the medal you show. If both are original they are nice pieces but IMO they do not go together. I think the case is for the Adler der Inhaber from Hohenzollern. I can not speak to the originality of the pieces so others might help there.

This case doesn?t belong to the Oldenburg "Rote Kreuz Medaille". This medal was cased in a small box, red and blue, with the marker?s label of Knauer inside. The medal was made in silver gilt, as yours, and also in bronze gilt. During the first world war about 300 were given to nurses as well as to ambulancers. The correct number I cannot say, because many of the lists are missing.

please show the whole case, perhaps it is a late piece and belongs to the Prussian Hohenzollern eagle the owners.
