Bryan Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 As seen on a publicity in Hong Kong 2 weeks ago. It seems that Soviet awards are quite fashionable. Sorry I didn't took a picture of the whole publicity. The OGPW catched my attention.
Christophe Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Hi Bryan,What was the topic of the advertising ?Cheers.Ch.
Guest Rick Research Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I was thinking the same thing-- what are they "selling?" I know, breakfast cereal, shoes, vacation condos... whatever it is, I'm SURE the first thing people associate with whatever it is in their minds is the Soviet Order of the Patriotic War! :cheeky:
Ed_Haynes Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Is it "fashion" or "nostalgia"? Whether you know what the award is or not, the symbolism would be quite clear.
Bryan Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 Hi Bryan,What was the topic of the advertising ?Cheers.Ch.I have no idea exactly. I couldn't read the text.It might have been something about fashion or cellphones. I really have no idea. Anyway, it's not the first time I see Soviet militaria used for advertisement. Maybe somebody that speak Cantonese could help us with the writting on the OGPW.
Wild Card Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Is it "fashion" or "nostalgia"? Whether you know what the award is or not, the symbolism would be quite clear.Good point Ed.
