Chris Boonzaier
Nice pic!Have never seen that before. I wonder if it was private initiative?
joerookery
I have never seen it either -- it is a private purchase helmet cover, but it just leads to a lot of questions. I thought you would appreciate seeing it.

spolei
Hello dante, do you have created the uniform itself ? The rank of the uniform seems a regular soldier before WW1. The owner of the bar was an "Offiziersstellvertreter". The bar was built after 1934, because of the FEK, but it is a nice bar. Can you show bigger pictures of it? The "Edelweiss" on the cap is a postwar production with the crown inside, I think especially for the ILR. regards Andreas

Chip
This may be true, but as far as I know, there has been nothing discovered that proves whether it was a wartime or a postwar insignia. The mountain troops museum near Sonthofen has it labeled as a wartime piece, but once again, there is no proof of that. Chip The "Edelweiss" on the cap is a postwar production with the crown inside, I think especially for the ILR.
