    Hi,

I have posted one photo with Officer with Pour le M?rite, but the officer behind him wore, for me, the Lippe croos for heroic deed.

What do you think about this cross ?

Could be Mecklenburg Strelitz. Too blurred to be sure.

    Hi Rick,

for me this cross is a little bigger than strelitz cross. But like picture is not in very good condition it's difficult (without Epson scanner) to make a better one

    Hi Christophe,

a cross for heroic deeds Lippe-Detmold is possible, really hard to say.

The ribbon-bar might be the key, but I?m unable to identify the ribbons on it.

Do you have any information about the Regiment? Does the PLM-person give any hints on that?

    Best regards

    hi christophe,

i think i figured it out while going through my collection. the lippe cross with the inscription 'for heldenmutige tat' is indeed larger than an ek1--- and the lippe cross WITHOUT this inscription is smaller and roughly the same size as an ek1. perhaps we are looking at the 'regular' version?

    just a thought.

    best,

Hehe, nice thoughts, but there is a small problem:

The Lippe-cross with stick-pin and without inscription (often called the 1st class of the war merit cross) was never spent nor awarded.

Last month I had a old prototype of this cross in my hands for an article on my website, it was similar to the cross, which is shown in the museum in Detmold.

But anyway, it was never spent! :shame:

    Best regards
