Christian L Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 will the last be the most important one? thats what i'm thinking about this big ribbonbar - you as well?don't think its possible to id the owner, but at least i think its nice to have a look at it. christian
Deruelle Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Is it the ribbon of the order of the Henry the Lion of Brunswick ? If it is the case, it's so nice. Great bar RegardsChristophe
Christian L Posted November 25, 2005 Author Posted November 25, 2005 thanks christophe - added a close up of the last ribbon (i would guess lippe - because of the golden "wire" in the borders)but no idea on the decoration which is represented by the ribbon in this case.
Deruelle Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Hi Christian, I think of Knight cross 2nd class of the order of Henry the Lion of BrunswickRibbon from Lippe is more pale than BrunswickChristophe
Stogieman Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I would agree. Lippe House Order, not Brunswick.
Bob Hunter Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Great bar, Christian! I think I have its cousin!
Guest Rick Research Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Yes, Lippe House Order with the metallic threads. No way to tell with a Major's bar like this, "the usual" Prussian trio and ONE House Order. But what MINTY Old Styles!!!!
Stogieman Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 You always wonder about these Prussian "trios" with one "foreign" order.... Lipee on one, Reuss on the other........ how did this happen? Held a door open at the right time? Lit the requisite number of cigars/cigarettes/Tiparellos at the state dinner?? I always wonder, but perhaps I'm just a weirdo......
