Erich S Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I wanted to share this 24mm Deschler GPB from my collection that's attributed to SS Standartenfuhrer Max Sollmann who was the head of Lebensborn and on Himmlers personal staff. He was also awarded the Blood Order, Honor ring and SS Degan.

der-hase-fee Posted October 7, 2009 Posted October 7, 2009 Reverse Not many reactions to an amazing piece ...
Erich S Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 Thanks for your reply hesse fee, it's pretty rare to find a GPB attributed to an SS member let alone a high level one such as Sollmann. Best, Erich
Jon fish Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Erich, excellent GPB, congratulations

Erich S Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 Thanks Jon and Morten, it really makes history live when you are able to get a badge to a high ranking official. Best, Erich
Henry 24th Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Very nice Golden Party badge, Erich! If I may ask, does it have a great story behind it? for example a local find or came from a family member etc...and have you been able to locate the other items that you had mentioned; Blood order, Degen, and ring? It is unfortunate that groupings get split up so often regards Henry

Wolf was the head of Himmler's personal staff and Sollman was also on the staff. The badge is the only Sollman item that I own. Best, Erich
Erich S Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 Here's the capture photo of Sollmann from 1945 before going on trial at Nurnberg.
Erich S Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 Thanks again for the kind words everyone. Does anyone else have a GPB that they want to share from a notable TR personality?
MJC Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 I've just seen this post. What a great historical item, congratulations!
Paul R Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Was he convicted of anything as a result of the trials?
der-hase-fee Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Was he convicted of anything as a result of the trials? Max Sollmann: Acquitted & Released Source: http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Holocaust/rushacase.html
Erich S Posted July 28, 2010 Author Posted July 28, 2010 Max Sollmann: Acquitted & Released Source: http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Holocaust/rushacase.html Sollmann spent a total of about 3 years in jail, from 45-48. One interesting fact about Sollmann, was that he was of the youngest participants of the Putsch at age 19.
