Deruelle Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Hi everybody, here is another new Saxon ribbon bar for NCO. The fact that there are two long service ribbon is interresting but between those ribbons, we find ribbon for Albert medal 4th class without X. This is not so common at all Christophe

This is not so common at all Christophe Hi Chris, It may have been awarded as a non-cambatant award? Or maybe he didn't bother putting the swords device on? Perhaps one of the long service ribbons is representing the Saxe-Altenburg Medal for Bravery 1915? Kind regards Matt Edited January 31, 2010 by M Hunter
Guest Rick Research Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Yup. I would think the 3rd ribbon is the Altenburg Bravery Medal too, and then it is in perfect precedence. He must have been some sort of Landwehr NCO-- lower military rank than his civil service job?
saschaw Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Not to unlikely to get an Albrecht (cross) pre-war and then only a FAM?! How about Altenburg jubilee medal? Would match the Altenburg bravery medal... PS: used to be mine...
Guest Rick Research Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Doing the SMM rolls, it is amazing how many Saxon Feldwebels and so on didn't get an EhrenkreuzX so... nothing higher than a sFAM. I think this would be explained by a difference in status civilian/military.
