227 RIR disbanded?

Hi,

the 227 was in the 107 ID in December 1917... then drops off the map... does anyone know if it was disbanded?

If you find to where it fell off the map, see if my missing FAR 9 is there with your RIR 227.

FAR 9 went into hiding too in at the end of 1917. :ninja:

hmmmmmm.... ever hear of those Japanese soldiers, lost somewhere on an island, not knowing the war was over until the 70s......

I will never drive by a forest or bunker in France again without wondering.......

The order of battle for 107. Infanterie-Division in "Deutschlands Schirm und Wehr im alten und im neuen Heer" still shows R.I.R. 227 as still being under command on 21 March 1918. According to Hartwig Busche - in "Formationsgeschichte der deutschen Infanterie", the regiment was disbanded on 10 Sep 1918.
