Navy Hat & Tally

Just recently acquired a British Navy Winter hat and HMS Glowworm Tally seperately.

Have attached the Tally and not the easiest thing to do? Not sure as to the age of the hat or the tally but looks good in my hat/helmet collection.

If you go to the section "Great Britain/ Royal Navy History" I have posted an item with reference to my Uncle "Stoker 1st Class Wilfred James Findon" who was KIA aboard the Glowworm off Norway April 1940.

Thanks, yes I know they would have worn a plain "HMS" tally but I have this in my collection with reference to my Uncle who served and was killed on the Glowworm.

What an incredibly small world... my wifes Grandfather was wounded on the fight with the Glowworm... but he was on a German Destroyer!!

Strange but true! Coincidences are, I think, proof that the 'greater power', however you choose to define that, has a sense of humour, if occasionally black humour.

The tally looks to be a modern reproduction, this can be verified when looking a the reverse, in the 1980s a new manufacture/weave was used and the gold has a "stay-brite" look and feel.
