lilo Posted June 11, 2010 Share Posted June 11, 2010 (edited) Hi All, I would like tohave your help to correctly identify some of the foreign Medals/Orders the WW1 Italian General Francesco BELLOTTI is wearing on the photo (dated 1927) below: A) The high resolution photo shows a Neck Badge and a Breast Star of the Danish Order of Dannebrog (see nr. 1) : Is it possible to establish : 1) which type 2) when it was awarded and 3) which class is the Order of Dannebrog ? B) Is the Neck Badge (see nr. 3) that of the 'Sweden Order of the Sword' ? Which class is it ? C) Last, but the most important, to which country belongs the medal (see nr. 2) that has the head of what I presume is a Queen and that it is suspended from a 'Crown' and looks like to be in silver ? Could it be Swedish, Danish of what ? Is it possible to correctly identify what this medal is for ? Many Thanks in advance for your precious Help. kimj Posted June 12, 2010 Share Posted June 12, 2010 Hi Nr. 2 is Belotti's Swedish neck order for the grade "kommendör av 2:a klass", commander 2nd class. He was awarded in 1921. The medal doesn't look like any Swedish medal I have ever seen. Also Sweden has not had a queen since the 1600s, but that will change. Great Dane Posted June 12, 2010 Share Posted June 12, 2010 (edited) The Order of Dannebrog Commander 1. class was awarded to him on 29. March 1922 (so it would be a Christian X type).
