Lukasz Gaszewski
I have just been asked to ID the following trio. Judging from the mounting, it can be post-WWI German. As I am not an expert in the Weimarer Republic, could someone kindly help ID the ribbons?
Noor
I would be very suprised if its turns out as a German at all Maybe Romania?

Kev in Deva
No, its got no connection to Romania. I took the liberty to highlight the pictures. Style of mounting and the type of backing plate are not Romanian either. Kevin in Deva.

Hugh
Possibly Dutch, based on the colors of the first two ribbons? Hugh
Noor
Romania I was thinking exactly because the style... In this case, judging the colours, I think Dutch - Belgium - France as well. I do not have any materials here but middle ribbon looks like Dutch LS award in this case and the last one (France?) something from Red Cross? Maybe volunteer to German army, who let his awards mounted German style?
Odulf
Possibly Dutch, based on the colors of the first two ribbons? Hugh Dutch ribbons lack these gilt stripes along the sides, thus not Dutch.

This Romanian bar in Noor's picture in my opinion is a late war piece and probably was influenced by the German style of bars which would have been seen by Romanians alongside German units. For those interested Noors Romanian bar shows ribbons for:- a, Serviciul Credincios Medal / (Credible Service.) b, King Carol I Centenary Medal. c, Crusade Against Communism 1941. Richarddwh
In my spare ribbon box I have a long length, maybe 12 inches of the ribbon shown on the left of the ribbon bar. I have never had a clue for what award it belonged to. Would be interested to find out also!
Richarddwh
I am starting to think this bar may be related to a German Student fraternity or Studentenverbindung.
