2xvetran Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 While not much to look at, I believe that this may turn out to be a rarity some day. It is an Iraqi soldiers blanket. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-4139-127911963755.jpg.jpg]
2xvetran Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 A fairly good quality leather and canvas map case. I haven't encountered vary many of these since I began collecting Iraq Militaria. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-4139-127911979592.jpg.jpg]
2xvetran Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 This is a rather interesting shirt as it is all wool and even the Lt.Colonel ranks on the shoulder are embroidered on a thick wool. I have never found another set of Iraqi rank like this. This pair pre-dates 1991 and were found in the home of a former high regime official by me in 2003. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-4139-127912006654.jpg.jpg]
2xvetran Posted July 17, 2010 Author Posted July 17, 2010 Here is an updated shot of nylon bevo officers ranks. I have been told that these are made for helicopter pilots, that they were made to be waterproof, and that they were made under contract in Germany... Not sure how much if any of this is true. I would like to complete two sets, one for aviation and one for Army. Scott. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-4139-127934180659.jpg.jpg]

2xvetran Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 (edited) Here is a bit of a different uniform. This is a short sleeve version of the green duty uniform, I haven't seen many short sleeve uniforms outside of pictures. This uniform has German made Colonel rank, with a nice Republican Guard braided shoulder qardoon, and pin on sleeve triangles along with the national flag breast pin. Scott. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-4139-127973742931.jpg.jpg] Edited July 21, 2010 by 2xvetran
2xvetran Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 Another different type of shirt. This shirt is a very dark green (even darker than shown) and has nicely embroidered sleeve triangles for the Republican Guard. I really would like to find a pair of matching trousers. 2xvetran Posted July 23, 2010 Author Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) This uniform belonged to Lt. General Abid Hamid Mahmoud Al-Tikriti. It is as I found it in his home, with the incorrect rank. Perhaps he was expecting a promotion or merely dreaming of one but this is what I found in 2003. I have had, and still do have several other items from the General. Some went by way of auction to fund my school and living expenses a few years ago. My daughter decided she needed to strike a pose for this picture Scott. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_07_2010/post-4139-12799093311.jpg.jpg] Edited July 23, 2010 by 2xvetran
