Brian Wolfe Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Hello Everyone, This group arrived a few days ago and I thought I'd show it off. Nothing really special, an EK with three commemorative medals. The Iron Cross has become unattached from the medal bar at some time and reattached too high (in my opinion) but I will leave it as is since I beleive this to the a period repair. The EK is unmarked but the Honour Cross is marked G3, and seems to be a darker colour than many I have, for some reason, though it looks good with the group (again, in my opinion). There was something about these four medals that caught my eye so now the group resides in my collection. I hope you like it as well. Regards Brian

IrishGunner Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 You are right, just something about this simple bar that is really striking to the eye. Well done. One can just imagine this Wuerrtemburger (assumption because of the Stuttgart label) fighting on the Isonzo Front with the Austria-Hungarian forces.
Kev in Deva Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Very nice, great find. I have two items in my collection bearing the same Stuttgart label a 1934 Hindenburg Cross of Honour for N.C. and 2 III Reich Service Medals on a bar. Kevin in Deva.
army historian Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Very nice, yes simple but, striking. Congratulations, Cheers Captain Albert
VtwinVince Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Nice bar. I have the exact same one, from my grandfather. It doesn't look like much, but he was the first EM in his regiment to win the EK2, so it has special significance.
