Could have these ribbon-bars belonged to Leutnant der Reserve Oskar Schneider?

Lt.d.R. Oskar Schneider was at one time with Ersatz-Infanterie-Regiment N.28

The reason I believe it could be Lt. Schneider's bars

Hardy this is great! I can't believe that you actually received the ribbon bars from the family. That would be great if they could provide you a copy of the Militarpass, Soldbuch, and/or copied photos.

The Southern German look on the ribbon bars is real sharp. I actually just read online today about the Southern German Style: "The South German style was so popular it was all but universal in baden, Hohenzollern, Wurttemberg, and Bavaria." ~ http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/related/ribbons/weimar.htm

    Jason,

Unfortunatly there is nothing left - nobody knows and nobody is interested - over the last decade the family-history was either thrown away or sold piece by piece.

Hmmmm... I have LtdR Schneider in IR 28 and then transferring to IR 69 in July, 1915.

But there was also a Gerhard Schneider who was a Major who was in the Regiments Verein in 1929 (and living in Frankfurt).

sorry to hear that. I am still working on your scans. It is taking awhile. My computer crashed at home (at work now) and I am waiting to get it back. Please stay in touch. Hope all is well with you.

Schneider received the Zähringer Lion Order 16th of November 1917.

Unfortunately "Schneider" is such a common name, that I cannot say "which" of the numerous Schneiders he is among the published Hohenzollern awards.

    Greetings

    Daniel
