Sunk 7 April, 1945 in the English Channel in position 50.33.17N, 00.56.09W, by depth charges from the British destroyer HMS Watchman. Salvage attempts abandoned in April 1945. 32 dead and 18 survivors.

Could it be the fourth man in front of the captain ? just beside the man in blue coat ? It look a lot like Gebhardt
