drclaw Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Arrived from the same seller Japan. The seller must have a warehouse of these sitting somewhere. Everytime he sells one on YJA, another one gets posted the same day Also discovered YJA as a potential source of very cheap ODM from other countries. In just the last week, I've seen a cased Order of the Yugoslav Crown and a cased Ethiopian Order of the Star go for a song. Must stop spending money. Baby needs a pair of new shoes .....
Dieter3 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Must stop spending money. Baby needs a pair of new shoes ..... Naaa.....baby needs a new Order of the Pillars of State...... NIce pair!!! Yeah, I wish I knew where this guy came up with all of his stuff!!!!
taquito22 Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 I wish I could read Japanese...I would be on YJA picking up my own pair!
khorgor Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Very nice!!! Great find and win Only thing the japanese don't sell cheap is Thailand medals funnily enough. Wonder if there is still bad blood there?
lambert Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Congratulations Gavin! Beautiful decoration. I'm thinking, if I start buying Japanese Orders .. I'm lost! As a beginner, I have to stop spending so much money too . Lambert
lambert Posted March 16, 2011 Posted March 16, 2011 Post this order it is the second world war? how to identify the period, if she WWII previous or subsequent to WWII
drclaw Posted March 17, 2011 Author Posted March 17, 2011 Hi Lambert, I am far, far, from an expert on these things being a new collector myself. But understand that silver kanji on the case suggests WWII issue ... at least for the case. For the Manchukuo awards, gold kanji would be pre-WWII as the Manchukuo awards ceased at the end of WWII. If you ever have the opportunity, watch The Last Emperor on DVD or BluRay. Plenty of eye candy on display - 1st/2nd class Rising Suns, Auspicious Clouds, etc. It's also an excellent film!
Brian Wolfe Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I wish I could read Japanese...I would be on YJA picking up my own pair! I'm with you there. On the other hand, I'd spend more than I do now and that could be a financial disaster. Regards Brian
