Special Request - Items Wanted Section for Japan Forum?

So.......I know there is a "wanted" and "sale" section on the board, but would it be allowable to have these here specific to Japanese Only items? Might be somewhat redundant, but I think it would be more to the point. I think we could do without the FOR SALE part, but the WANTED, what do yo all think?

Hello Dieter,

As a vic specialist collector I am always interested in completing my larger collection and that includes the Japanese section. As discussed with you I think it would be pertinent for others that have a direct interest in Japanese specific items to post their wanted items here but then we run the risk of similar wanted sections appearing all over the forum.

This may be one for the moderator gods to sort out

As I am continually on the lookout for a Japanese victory medal miniature group it is always good for others to know what you're looking for as they may be able to help.

I think your idea has merit. Personally, I seldom, if ever, check the For Sale of Wanted sections. That being the case, it would be more benificial to me if such items were in their specific catagory. I'm not sure I have the authority to carry out such a change but I know it is beyond my abilities to do so. Perhaps a PM to Nick will answer your question. For whatever reason I missed your original post so it is possible Nick has missed it as well.

Thanks Gents. It would definitely have to come from the highest powers, those that can modify the forum itself so maybe I will contact Nick shortly unless he happens to chime in here. I suspect a lot of people do not visit the For Sale/Wanted sections, I know I seldom do. Perhaps I'm just lazy, but I'd prefer to cut to the chase as would most I suspect - to focus on what your interests are. I mean, the people with the Japanese interests are obviously here, so what better place to post a Want Ad for a Japanese item? There is one on Gunboards in the Japanese section and it works pretty well.

My only concern here is that if we get such a section in the Japanese forum then there is a need to create such a section in a lot of other fora as well. With the Wanted sections where they are at the moment it is surely easier for people to search rather than having them scattered around all the different fora here ?

Well, I don't know. On the surface it might seem so. Personally, I think it is better to have these kinds of things specific to each area of collecting. On Gunboards, it is a separate subforum within the Japanese Board. It works quite well really as it keeps the general talk separate from dedicated, sales-only related stuff. (Though they actually do For Sale as well as Wanted there - called the Japanese Trader) Personally, I think it is great. Then people that are interested can subscribe to that sub-forum. As far as subscriptions are concerned, I don't personally care to get notifications of every post that would be made to the section on this board because a lot of it does not apply to my interests. However, if it were here, people could readily subscribe and it would cut the chase more. No??? Of course it requires a bit of setup, but once its done, its done. The maintenance is easy enough. But this is for the board owner to decide, but I would be most appreciative if it could be taken into consideration.

Hello! I believe I read this part of the forum with For Sale and Wanted discussions. May I ask one question regarding Japanese Items? I am new to this Club and don't know much about Japanese medals, and I happen to work in a Security world where we have this eagle? insignia with this hat. Very attractive item, have variety in colors, silver and gold, maybe bronze. Anybody interested?
