    The painted portrait of Mozaffar-ud-Din - as a Crown-Prince (not the Shah). Shahs never wore these effigy portraits with themselves or their passed fathers:)

    One of the rare laws they had against vanity!

    Russian General Vasiliy Bebutov (1791-1858) with Effigy badge from Nasir-ud-Din Shah (received 1851; neck - partly under the huge white cross od St. George). The Lion'n'Sun star is the lowest one (Ist class, 1835).

    No wonder that Effigy badge is "under the huge white cross od St. George"!

    This is 2nd class!

    He got it on December 6, 1853 for "за блистательный подвиг мужества и отличную воинскую распорядительность, оказанные в сражении 19-го Ноября сего 1853 года, на правом берегу Арпачая, где вы, с храбрыми войсками НАШИМИ, находившимися под начальством вашим, разбив втрое сильнейший против них 36-тысячный корпус Турецкой армии, бывший под предводительством Сераскира Абди-Паши, взяли при этом с боя 24 орудия, несколько знамен и весь лагерь"

    This one was issued to austrian ambassador Arnold von Hammerstein Gesmold.
