Markus Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 The painted portrait of Mozaffar-ud-Din - as a Crown-Prince (not the Shah). Shahs never wore these effigy portraits with themselves or their passed fathers:) One of the rare laws they had against vanity!
Mitya Ivanov Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 (edited) Russian General Vasiliy Bebutov (1791-1858) with Effigy badge from Nasir-ud-Din Shah (received 1851; neck - partly under the huge white cross od St. George). JapanX Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Nice set of awards this guy had! No wonder that Effigy badge is "under the huge white cross od St. George"! This is 2nd class! He got it on December 6, 1853 for "за блистательный подвиг мужества и отличную воинскую распорядительность, оказанные в сражении 19-го Ноября сего 1853 года, на правом берегу Арпачая, где вы, с храбрыми войсками НАШИМИ, находившимися под начальством вашим, разбив втрое сильнейший против них 36-тысячный корпус Турецкой армии, бывший под предводительством Сераскира Абди-Паши, взяли при этом с боя 24 орудия, несколько знамен и весь лагерь"
JapanX Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Btw, he got his 2nd class Lion in 1817 and his 1st class was "with diamonds"
JapanX Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 At last! This is how document for these babes (at least for late ones) looks like. This one was issued to austrian ambassador Arnold von Hammerstein Gesmold. Dimentions 587 x 409 mm. 1
